Sarona Moana-Marie Reiher Snuka, who was born on January 10, 1978, is a Fijian-American professional wrestler from Vancouver, WA. She is currently signed to WWE as Tamina Snuka. Snuka is the daughter of deceased WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka and his second wife, Sharon. James, her brother, is also a professional wrestler, most notably in WWE under the ring aliases Deuce and Sim Snuka.
After training at the Wild Samoan Training Center, she made her debut in 2009, with her first bouts taking place on World Xtreme Wrestling shows. In 2010, she joined WWE’s developmental program FCW, and on May 24, 2010, she made her WWE television debut on SmackDown! Her initial position was as The Usos’ manager, serving as a foil to Natalya in their fight with the Hart Dynasty.
She has a distinctive appearance and is one of the rare female powerhouses. She excels at multi-person matches. Despite not having the opportunity to capture multiple single title reigns during the Divas Era, Tamina has continued to stay relevant in many ways.
In late September 2013, Snuka returned to WWE television as Divas Champion AJ Lee’s bodyguard. At Battleground, Snuka assisted AJ in retaining her Divas Championship by assaulting rival Nikki Bella. AJ defended her title against Natalya on the November 13 edition of Main Event when Snuka interrupted and assaulted Natalya. As a result, Snuka and Natalya faced off on the November 15 edition of SmackDown, which Snuka lost.
Tamina is a force to be reckoned with, because of her massive size and power, as well as her ability to fly over the top rope. When she isn’t dominating her opponents in singles competition, Tamina uses her intimidating presence to act as the muscle behind other elite female Superstars, including past alliances with Sasha Banks and Naomi to form Team B.A.D., a unique tandem with Lana, and even linking up with Nia Jax to form a powerful duo. Throughout her career, it seems that Tamina has always fallen short due to so many injuries. Yet, she continues to show up and work her way back into a story each time.
After teaming up with third-generation Superstar Natalya, the duo won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Tamina was recruited to the Raw brand in the 2021 Draft, while Natalya stayed on the SmackDown brand, therefore terminating the tandem.
She failed to win the WWE 24/7 Championship from Dana Brooke on January 3’s Raw, which also featured Reggie and Akira Tozawa. Tamina, Tozawa, and R-Truth spent months trying to win the title from Reggie and Dana Brooke. She won the title on Raw’s April 18 double wedding special but lost it against Tozawa. She filed for divorce later that month since he was unable to assist her to win the championship.
