It’s Wednesday night, and you know what that means. Time for another episode of AEW Dynamite. Starved of wrestling Los Angeles got its first-ever taste of AEW live from the Forum.
Fresh off of their match at Double or Nothing, Ruby Soho and now Queen of Harts Britt Baker clash one more time. This time in a tag match. In Britt’s corner, her partner in crime, Jamie Hayter. While Ruby brought in Toni Storm, who also has unfinished business with Britt after losing to her in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament semifinals.
The Match
For what was a basic tag match on paper, this match was far better than it had any right to be. While formulaic in its structure, all of the women involved put on a decent match, with the heaviest spots captivating the LA crowd.
The star of the match was undoubtedly Hayter. Hayter looked smooth in the ring and outshone her tag partner, carrying most of the match. Her snap suplex was gorgeous, and the crazy rough bump she took from a cross body was the spot of the match. On this night, Hayter was the one to stand out, which is impressive considering the talent in the ring. Surly, AEW will be pulling the trigger on her soon.
Ultimately Ruby gained some sort of redemption after her loss on Sunday. Hitting the Destination Unknown, Soho managed to roll Britt over to score the victory. Although Hayter cut the celebrations short with a post-match beat down.

Final Thoughts
Although the match was a quick, fun encounter, the post-match has me pulling my hair out. AEW has this insistence of Britt over at all costs, and, like most finishes where the heel gets their heat back straight away, this beating undercuts a great match.
This brings Ruby’s place on the card into question. Soho seems to have been slotted into the veteran talent role. Since arriving in AEW, she has been putting everyone over, with little being given to her in return. She had lost to Britt twice and boosted Jade Cargill’s status when they faced each other in the final of the TBS title tournament. This number of losses is a delicate balancing act. No gimmick is evergreen, and if Ruby keeps racking up the losses, there is the potential she could fall out of favor with the fans.
What’s more, Soho deserves better. It is not for me to say if Ruby is happy with her position putting over newer talent; that remains to be seen. But as underutilized by WWE as Soho was, it feels like Soho is more than capable of having a title run somewhere down the line.
