#REWINDWITHSAM: Money In The Bank 2015

#RewindWith Sam will provide an in-depth analysis of every big premium live event, while I will provide my honest and frank opinions on the matches. With Money in the Bank a week away, I’ve chosen to look back at the 2015 Money in the Bank match between Nikki Bella and Paige for the WWE Divas Championship.

In 2015 the landscape of women’s wrestling would change and would be taken more seriously. Nikki Bella defended the Divas Championship against Paige at the 2015 Money in the Bank event, just before to Stephanie McMahon ushering in the Women’s revolution and bringing key stars such as Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair to the main roster for the first time. Nikki’s twin sister Brie and Alicia Fox helped her throughout her record-breaking second reign as Divas Champion. Team Bella ruled the divas division from late 2014 until mid-2015.

Throughout the match, Paige’s fury grew as she was unable to defeat Nikki and win the championship. Before falling to the ground, the two ladies exchanged blows on the middle rope in the corner. Brie emerged from underneath the ring in order to execute Twin Magic. The Bellas’ specialization enables them to win matches.

Paige and the match official were aware of the changeover during the bout. Brie attempted to win by rolling up Paige, but the victory was overturned, and Paige received three counts. Paige was stunned to see that, after pinning Brie, she had not won the championship.

After Brie identified herself, Paige delivered a kick that caused her to fall out of the ring. Nikki reclaimed her title with a forearm and Rack Attack. Nikki held the Divas Championship for 301 days when Charlotte Flair defeated her at Night of Champions. The Diva’s Championship was retired by Flair at WrestleMania 32.
