NXT REVIEW – WEEK OF FEB 26

NXT – February 28

Wendy Choo Attack

Nathan Frazer asks the doctor to check his neck as McKenzie prepares to interview him about his earlier match. Katana Chance interrupts. McKenzie tells the cameraman to follow Katana because Wendy is hurt. Katana leads the doctor to the parking lot, Wendy Choo on the ground clutching her elbow and Kayden Carter beside her. Again!

McKenzie will check on Wendy later with Katana and Kayden. Tiffany, “After the parking lot attack, Wendy Choo will be out indefinitely. Alert! Avoid NXT’s parking lot.” Katana and Kayden leave the hospital. “It’s bad, McKenzie,” Katana says. “Look at the bright side,” Tiffany says. Kayden replies, “I’m sorry, didn’t she have a longstanding issue with Wendy Choo?” Tiffany doesn’t like being blamed for Wendy’s attack, “Where were you two when Nikkita Lyons was attacked? You guys witness Wendy Choo’s assault? Sounds suspicious.” Katana wonders where Tiffany is taking it and said, “Tiffany epiphany! Detective?” Katana challenges her.

Astrid’s Point

It’s been interesting that now two women have been attacked in the parking lot. We are already it’s the most dangerous place in NXT, trying to figure who it could be and why they are doing this.

Gigi Dolin Promo

Gigi asks to cut the Toxic Attraction theme song, saying, “Cut this music. That’s the last time you’ll hear this awful song, so I’ll keep it brief because, unlike Jacy, I don’t like my own voice drone on. Three weeks ago, this ring crushed my skull. Don’t worry—I’ve dealt with life-changing changes before. I’ve been kicked in the head by trusted family members before. Physical pain is manageable. I’m trying to kill myself, so I can handle personal betrayal. Jacy, you revealed my true self. Toxic Attraction was about money, fame, glitz, and glamour. Being mean was fun. Jacy, it channeled your insecurities.

But it helped me channel my inner demons because I’ve always been content to survive. I trusted you, Jacy. We discussed everything. My mother was the last person to betray me and beat me. She used me as her punching bag for years, so when I finally ran away as a teenager, I wanted to show my little brother that I could make it in WWE so we could escape. Pain and suffering can end. Jacy, you don’t understand. I’ve been knocked down many times, but I’ve always gotten up. RoadBlock next week, bring everything. I’ll use all my pain, suffering, and rage to put Toxic Attraction to rest.”

Astrid’s Point

This has been Gigi’s best promo to date, I enjoyed the passion she had behind it and also sharing a snippet of her story, making her more relatable to the crowd plus seeing how emotional she was, it definitely shows how many she has learned.

Chase U Segment

Duke apologizes to Thea after chatting with Chase U students. “I apologize for my rudeness last week. “Sometimes,” says Thea. Duke says, “Just know that I think you’re a very strong woman who can stand alone.” Duke replies, “Oh no, I 100% meant what I said about the university,” when Thea says, “I am sure Mr. Chase will accept your apology about the university.” Andre interrupts them, changing the TV to Joe Gacy.

Rip Fowler begins, “How can you proudly represent a failing institution? You represent the university and its values.” Reid stated, “Rich ideals must awaken promising minds. Besides idols.” Under the Schism’s tree, the grass is greener “Gacy said. “Thea, your body is in shock without pain. You saw how life can be under our shade. Your brain can’t unlearn. You can’t unhear. Thea knows, “”Ava”

“Duke Hudson, vent. You should only wave the white flag “Rip Fowler. “Chase U is nothing but an unaccredited school so to everyone in that classroom, gather your textbooks and take the first step to a better life, move under the Schism’s tree because if you don’t, our roots will grow deeper as we dismantle Chase University until it burns,” Joe Gacy and Ava say. Duke asks a question, Andre talks about Schism and challenges Joe Gacy to a match next week.

Astrid’s Point

It was interesting that Duke apologized to Thea for what he said to her but not what he said about Chase U. I would like to see if there is a turn for Thea after what Ava said during this segment.

Roxanne enters the ring, Meiko pointing at the championship as they have a stare down.

Astrid’s Point

I enjoyed this match, I wish it had been longer, it’s nice to see Meiko going against the NXT ladies and showcasing them in the process. I am looking forward to her versus Roxanne next week.

Sol Ruca v Elektra Lopez (With Valentina Feroz)

Zoey goes backstage as Sol enters. Elektra pushes Sol away after Sol pushes her to the ropes. Again, Sol has Elektra in a headlock and takes her down, but the referee notices Elektra pulling Sol’s hair. Elektra knocks Sol down. Sol tries to reverse Elektra’s wrist lock, but Elektra pulls her hair and takes her down.

WWE Photo

Elektra pulls Sol to a corner and grabs her leg. Sol uses her other leg to hit Elektra, jumps up and over her, runs the ropes, but Elektra hits her with a right hand and pulls Sol from the ropes. Sol reverses with a face buster. Sol pulls Elektra to a corner, stops, wraps her legs around her neck, and pushes Sol away, who falls on the apron. Elektra shoots Sol, jumps to the post, and pushes Sol outside.

Elektra goes to retrieve her brass knuckles, but Valentina already has them. Elektra is yelling for Valentina to give them to her, but she refuses. Sol hits Elektra with the Sol Snatcher pins her for the victory. Elektra is arguing with Valentina about it, Valentina punches Elektra with the brass knuckles instead, knocking Elektra out.

Astrid’s Point

It’s disappointing that Elektra hasn’t improved much especially compared to someone like Sol who started just recently, the best thing she did during this match was push Sol outside to try to gain momentum. I did hope Valentina would help her to create some Latina faction but after knocking her out, I am curious as to what’s next for them.

Tiffany Stratton v Katana Chance (with Kayden Carter)

Tiffany throws Katana away, flexing. Katana runs up the stairs, Tiffany chases her, Katana ducks and wraps her hands around Tiffany’s waist, but Tiffany elbows her down. Tiffany is cornered, Katana chases her, Tiffany pushes her over her head, Katana tackles Tiffany and uses the ropes for a unique head scissor takedown.

Tiffany picks up Katana to break her wrist lock but Katana wiggles for an inside cradle. Katana has a headlock on Tiffany, who pushes her over her head. Katana gets up and pushes Tiffany to the ropes. Tiffany cartwheels over Katana, leapfrogs when Katana runs under her, and Katana bounces off the ropes for a takedown, but Tiffany overpowers her and drops her on the top rope.

WWE Photo

After the match, Tiffany says, “I have proven that I am the very best woman in NXT and all of you would be satisfied by that but I’m never satisfied. I don’t want to be called the best, I want to be called the NXT Women’s Champion! Roxanne Perez, Meiko Satomura, I don’t care who wins next week because that title belongs to me.”

Astrid’s Point

I loved that even with a match this short, both ladies were about the showcase each other’s athleticism. It was interesting seeing Alba and Isla insert themselves into this between Kayden and Katana as well after they’re already involved with Tatum and Ivy too. I loved Tiffany calling out whoever wins the match next week, that match will most likely happen for Stand & Deliver in my opinion.
