Mickie James Teaches Nick Aldis To “Dress Like A Star”

Former Staff

Updated: Aug 2, 2023

Recently, Nick Aldis sits down with The Universal Wrestling Podcast and speaks about his legendary wife, Mickie James.

“The thing that I picked up from her, and I think this is one that you could if you go back and you can even sort of visually time stamp it, is Mickie would dress like a star.” He continues, “Traveling through the airport going to the grocery store, or doing whatever.”

“When we first started dating, we weren’t living together at first. But obviously, we would travel together and there would be times where she is not very punctual. Her punctuality is not her strong point. There would be times where we’d be really sort of cutting it close in terms of making flights and stuff like that. But it was because she insisted on, full hair and makeup, jewelry, nice clothes.”

Adopting the style and fashion

“I 100% adopted that, and it fed me very well. Now, one of the things that people bring up all the time is the way I dress …  One of the gyms I train at is the gym that Jeff [Jarrett] trains at, and I forget how it came up, but we had seen each other at an event recently maybe WrestleCade or something. He’s like, ‘Oh, I saw you guys over there. Your outfits coordinated, You had the nice suit on, and she had a dress on,’ this and that. I forget how it came up. We were talking about how Jeff had said something about like, ‘man, I see some of these guys there and they’re just in a t-shirt or whatever.’

“I said, ‘The way I look at it is if you’re going to pay for my autograph, right, or pay for to have a picture with me, you’re paying for Nick Aldis’. If you’re going to pay for it, you’re going to get — ‘I paid for Nick Aldis, not ‘kind of ‘Nick Aldis. I paid for the National Treasure Nick Aldis, the one that I’ve seen on NWA Powerrr or whatever, right? I didn’t pay for Nick Aldis on his couch.’ That’s sort of the way I look at it. To me, it’s a commitment to the audience. It’s a commitment to the fans who are going to part with their hard-earned money.”

In addition, he ends by saying, “I’m not saying everybody has to wear custom-made suits.” As we know, Mickie James is gearing up for her match with Jordynne Grace at Hard To Kill.
