For most wrestling fans, Tony Khan’s announcement of Ring of Honor’s return was nearly too much to bear. The entire wrestling world was abuzz with speculation about how this would be accomplished. ROH has returned to the HonorClub platform after considerable wrangling with companies, networks, and talent. As today is the day for the return, marked with a Media Call this afternoon before the debut of the new era tonight at 7 pm EST, it feels appropriate to look at this from our favorite view: Women’s Wrestling.

Madison Rayne & Skye Blue vs. The Renegades (Charlette & Robyn)
Take a look at the whole card, it’s very stacked, with some huge players from the Honor annals making appearances. Focusing exclusively on the women, two blockbuster matchups have been planned for this evening. The Renegades (Charlette & Robyn) vs. Madison Rayne & Skye Blue is the first match. If you’ve never seen Charlette Renegade and Robyn Renegade in action, you’re in for a treat. The former Capital Championship Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance, and Mission Pro Wrestling champions will undoubtedly challenge veteran Madison Rayne and up-and-coming Skye Blue, both of whom have been featured regularly on AEW programs.

Lady Frost vs. Willow Nightingale
The second match announced is a sure-fire banger set between Willow Nightingale vs. Lady Frost. Willow is a regular on AEW programming, and she appears to be ready to bring her infectious enthusiasm to ROH, taking on the fiery Lady Frost. While this battle is a fantastic complement to an already packed program of action, these two matches raise a question that most people have: Where is Athena, the ROH Women’s Champion?

Only Athena and Mercedes Martinez are listed as active wrestlers on the Ring of Honor website. These details are enough to make someone wonder what the actual plans are for the ROH Women’s division. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see in a pure Tony Khan manner! I’ll definitely be tuning in, will you?
