On Saturday, Athena won the vacant Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship, making her the fourth woman to hold the championship. Over the weekend, the Warrior Wrestling organization conducted its 21st event, and a Triple Threat was scheduled to crown a new champion.
Thunder Rosa, the AEW Women’s World Champion, elected to renounce the title, leaving it vacant.

Athena overcame both Shazza McKenzie and Skye Blue in a bout that lasted just over 17 minutes to win her first gold since returning to the ring following her stint with WWE. After administering the Eclipse and pinning McKenzie, Athena won the match.
Twice earlier, former NXT Women’s champion tried to take this title from Thunder Rosa. Their first match ended in a 30-minute tie, while the second was a Triple Threat with Skye Blue. Rosa was still present in the interaction.
