AEW: Is Riho Here to Stay?

Former Staff

Last week’s AEW Dynamite saw the return of the Inaugural AEW Women’s champion Riho. She surprised audiences by popping up in the post-match brawl between Jamie Hayter and Rebel and the current Interim Women’s champion, Toni Storm. Riho used her unique move set to neutralize the threat for the champion and establish herself as a potential ally.

In this week’s episode, fans saw Riho face off with Jamie Hayter one on one, with Hayter getting the win after a hard-fought bout. Of course, Hayter had help from Dr. Britt Baker and Rebel, who were ringside with their usual antics. Hayter pulled out the win, and we saw Toni Storm show up again.

The real question that most fans have, though, is how long is Riho here for? Prior to her return last week, Riho was last seen in a trios competition on May 28th on AEW’s Dark show on YouTube. Her team got the win there. On May 11, 2022, she lost to the now-injured Ruby Soho in her fourth AEW match. She reportedly promoted AEW at the August AEW Fight Forever @ Tokyo Game Show in Japan.

While this may sound like good news to most fans, it does not provide an answer to whether she is here to stay or not. Riho is a welcome refresher to the Women’s roster and storylines, but is this temporary? Let us know what you think!
