2023 Royal Rumble Predictions

On January 28th, the Royal Rumble will take place in San Antonio, Texas. WWE will hold their women’s Royal Rumble for the sixth time, and it may be the first year without a clear favorite. I have a few women in mind who could benefit from a Rumble win and who I think would make the most sense to win and challenge for the championship at WrestleMania. Who do you think will win this year’s Royal Rumble? Comment below or let us know on social media.

1. Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss has had a very successful history in the WWE. She is a 3-time Raw Women’s Champion, a 2-time Smackdown Women’s Champion, a 3-time Women’s Tag Team Champion, and a Money in the Bank winner. However, the Goddess has yet to win a Royal Rumble. Alexa has spent months fighting Damage Control with Asuka and Bianca Belair, but she has no real direction in the company. After beating Bianca Belair in the championship match, she became “Evil Alexa” again. Bray Wyatt, her former partner, returned to Smackdown and has been causing his own confusion. Alexa mentioned Uncle Howdy on Raw, who may be connected to Bray Wyatt, but nobody knows how. The WWE seems to want Alexa back in a story with Bray Wyatt, so what better way to get attention than to win the Royal Rumble? Rumble? A championship match at WrestleMania would only elevate her and get people invested in her once more.

2. Rhea Ripley

Since Judgement Day forced Dominik Mysterio to turn on his father, Rey Mysterio, Rhea Ripley has been the center of attention. Rhea is a former NXT, NXT UK, WWE, and Raw Women’s Champion. Ripley defeated Akira Tozawa in an intergender match on Raw a few weeks ago. Rhea is the only woman on Judgement Day and possibly the toughest. The WWE clearly trusts her. Rhea definitely seems like she’d be able to easily outlast 29 other competitors and take the win this year. It would be great for her career as well as for the judgment day as a whole. Ripley also appears to have the best chance of defeating Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship, which no one has done in almost 300 days. Charlotte Flair defeated Rhea for the NXT Women’s Championship two years ago after winning the Royal Rumble and challenging Ripley.

3. Asuka

So far, no woman has ever won the Royal Rumble more than once. Asuka, however, seems like the perfect woman to break this and become the first-ever two-time Royal Rumble winner. Asuka, like Alexa Bliss, was used as Bianca Belair’s backup when feuding with Damage Control. She hasn’t worn green face paint in weeks. Asuka can best change her character by winning another Royal Rumble. Asuka lost her 914-day winning streak to Charlotte Flair after her 2018 Royal Rumble win. She wants revenge from 2018, since Charlotte is the Smackdown Women’s Champion. Asuka could also challenge Bianca Belair since they used to work together.

4. Bayley

Since her return from injury at SummerSlam last year, Bayley has caused havoc in the WWE. Along with Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky as Damage Control, the group has been wreaking havoc around Raw and Smackdown. Bayley hasn’t won Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship yet, but she’s still trying. Damage Control could use this strategy to help Bayley win the Royal Rumble and get another shot at the championship at WrestleMania. Bayley has won NXT, Raw, Smackdown, and Money in the Bank, so it’s surprising she hasn’t won the Royal Rumble. Bayley may finally win the Rumble and headline WrestleMania.
