WWE made an effort to put on a positive show for Monday’s special 30th-anniversary episode of Raw. Despite the company’s best efforts, many fans were left dissatisfied and dejected by the way women were cast on the show.

Some memorable moments from Raw 30 (Results) include The Undertaker’s interaction with Bray Wyatt, Ric Flair’s introducing Charlotte with pride, DX’s interaction with Imperium, and Brock Lesnar’s show-ending return.

Despite these positive aspects, there has been a lot of criticism regarding the lack of attention given to female Superstars. Becky Lynch and Bayley’s steel cage match, which was promoted as the main event of the show, did not occur.

The women’s cage match was cut because earlier parts of the program were running too long, and a brief “attack” angle was instead aired. In addition to the match between Bianca Belair and Sonya Deville, Alexa Bliss gave a backstage promo, and Charlotte Flair made a surprise appearance. Even during the Usos versus Judgment Day tag-team championship match, Rhea Ripley was involved. But enough people objected that the hashtag #WWEWomenDeserveBetter began to trend on Twitter.

The Bella Twins were not present at RAW 30, despite WWE’s advertisements. They vented about WWE’s mistreatment of its women talent in a video that they posted on social media.

Nikki ridiculed WWE for expressing displeasure that Sasha Banks was “too over”, while Brie continued “there’s a bunch of us they don’t want to show.”

WWE doesn’t look good in this situation. They are quick to congratulate themselves for supporting women, but in the eyes of their female talent and even fans, they are not doing enough. Women have participated in some of Raw’s most monumental moments. The “flashback” segments that were broadcast throughout the program included some of those moments.

The opinions of the fans (as well as talent) ultimately matter. You should take this kind of significant backlash into account even if you believe you’re doing a great job.

Here’s what fans had to say about RAW XXX last night under the #WWEWomenDeserveBetter.
