Two days ago, it was revealed that Becky Lynch would portray megastar Cyndi Lauper in the upcoming season three premiere of Young Rock. We can now see a glimpse of her role. In the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection, Lauper managed Wendi Richter during her time with the WWF. At The Brawl to End It All in 1984, Richter dethroned the Fabulous Moolah (along with Lou Albano) to win the WWF Women’s Championship.

On Nov. 4, Young Rock will premiere its third season, which will feature a biography of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Today, Lynch posted some pictures to Instagram and discussed her experience portraying Lauper.

She wrote: “Very excited to join the amazingly talented cast and crew of @nbcyoungrock as the iconic @cyndilauper. Playing someone as groundbreaking and influential, not only in the music industry but as a feminist and someone who was instrumental in bringing wrestling into the mainstream, was both challenging and immensely fun and I can’t wait for you all to see it! @nbc tomorrow night- 8:30 pm EST. Check it out!”

Becky Lynch, the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion, was praised by Johnson on social media.

He wrote: “Officially welcoming @beckylynchwwe to our YOUNG ROCK cast. Becky takes on the daunting and FUN task of playing the one and only – icon Cyndi Lauper. I was right there for Becky’s audition and we were all very impressed at her high-level commitment as an actor to becoming Cyndi Lauper. No easy task, but she worked her butt off and went all in – and crushed it. CAN’T WAIT for you guys to see Becky’s acting debut!!!”

Also released is the following “sneak peek.”

Since WWE SummerSlam, Lynch has been out due to a separated shoulder. When she will be back on television is unknown.
