Liv Morgan will have a new challenger come tonight. Friday Night SmackDown on September 9 will determine at least one WWE Extreme Rules 2022 championship match.
As the SmackDown Women’s Champion, Liv Morgan will make her third title defense in a pay-per-view event. Following her triumph at WWE Clash at the Castle against Shayna Baszler, Morgan now understands that five women, along with a recently reinstated Ronda Rousey, will be competing for a match against her at Extreme Rules.
The former Smackdown Women’s Champion will compete in a Fatal 5-Way against Natalya, Sonya Deville, Xia Li, and Lacey Evans. This marks the return of Evans to the ring. It was reported in recent weeks that WWE alleged she was not medically cleared to compete.
WWE made the announcement on its website.
One week after having her suspension reduced to probation and locking WWE Official Adam Pearce into the Armbar, Ronda Rousey will return to action on the blue brand and the stakes could not be higher. The Baddest Woman on the Planet will battle Sonya Deville, Natalya, Lacey Evans, and Xia Li in a Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match. Whoever survives the completely unpredictable contest will challenge Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WWE Extreme Rules!
Who will earn their opportunity at the coveted championship gold? Find out tonight at 8/7 C on SmackDown on FOX.
