Liv Morgan defeated Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship. SummerSlam was another failure for The Baddest Woman on the Planet to retain her championship. A significant SmackDown Women’s Championship match has been confirmed for next month’s WWE Extreme Rules premium live event in Philadelphia.
On tonight’s episode, Ronda Rousey, Sonya Deville, Natalya, Xia Li, and a returning Lacey Evans competed in an elimination five-way match to select the next challenger for Liv Morgan.
Xia Li and Lacey Evans subsequently submitted out to Deville and Rousey, respectively, and were eliminated. Rousey defeated Deville with an ankle lock to fight Morgan for the Extreme Rules title. Following her triumph, Ronda Rousey reconnected with her longtime buddy Shayna Baszler.
