Women have many chances to shine during WWE’s Women’s Evolution. The 2017 Women’s Money in the Bank Match proved that SmackDown’s women could handle a ladder match. SmackDown Live GM Bryan Danielson (aka Daniel Bryan) stripped Mella of the contract and commissioned a rematch on June 27, 2017, allowing the players time to recover and refocus. Even after being expelled earlier that night, her chinless insurance policy snaked back into the building.
Carmella grabbed the Irish Lass Kicker after Becky Lynch threw him over the ladder, causing her to land awkwardly on her knee. Mella used a steel chair to further harm Becky and ascend the ladder. The Moon Walking, Trash-Talking Princess of Staten Island made history by holding onto the contract for 287 days.
