From TNA to IMPACT! and worldwide, Madison Rayne has been one of the most consistent figures in the Knockouts division. Her contributions to the division, in and out of the ring, will forever be important. In addition, she is a legend in women’s wrestling, helping so many along the way.
This Top 5 will cover some of my favorite matches of Madison Rayne during her TNA/IMPACT! career.
#5 | Madison Rayne vs. Tessa Blanchard | Under Pressure 2018
This match kicks off my countdown, displaying the will to win. At this time, Tessa Blanchard is out to prove that no one in this division is better than her. However, as a veteran of the game, Madison Rayne believes otherwise.
Sometimes you have to show the rookie who is the real boss around here. As we all know, Rayne is going to play some mind games with her opponent. Blanchard may have the skill and strength but that means nothing in this match.
In addition, Rayne will not back down from any competitor and Blanchard learns that right off the bat. Even for a five-time Knockouts champion, this win was quite the upset for newbie Tessa Blanchard. This match proves that if you want to make a name for yourself in the Knockouts division you better not ever forget the name, Madison Rayne.
#4 | Madison Rayne vs. Velvet Sky | Xplosion Match
Representing The Beautiful People, Velvet Sky looks to shut up Madison Rayne. This match is a test of time, seeing who can be more clever. Both of these women love to play mind games but there can only be one winner.
Knowing each other so well, this match is evenly matched. From start to finish, it seems that each competitor knows the other’s next move. As Sky goes for her faced paper bag, Rayne takes advantage.
In addition, Rayne wins in a roll-up pin, in yet another shocking victory. This proves that she was more clever this time than Sky. One thing will forever be true about Rayne; she will always find some way to steal the victory.
#3 | Madison Rayne vs. Mickie James | TNA Genesis 2011
At this time, Madison Rayne walks in as the TNA Knockouts Champion. However, Mickie James looks to end that shortly. Their feud and hatred towards one another are felt from the time the bell rings.
To no surprise, the chemistry between the two was overwhelming, giving us a furious start to the match. At first, Rayne begins to taunt James, trying to get under her skin.
During this reign, Rayne was a three-time Knockouts champion. In addition, we all know the mind games of Madison Rayne and the will to retain. For that reason, James looks to end it quickly.
However, her plans do not go over too well. With a distraction from Tara, Rayne pulls out her heavy hitter glove and gains the win.

Madison Rayne vs. Angelina Love – Velvet Sky’s Heel Turn | March 27, 2014
The Beautiful People (Madison Rayne & Velvet Sky) vs. Tara & Angelina Love
Madison Rayne vs Brooke Tessmacher | TNA Hardcore Justice 2012
#2 | Madison Rayne vs. Tara | Sacrifice 2010
All in all, this feud went crazy. Career versus title match, the true meaning of sacrifice. In addition, this stipulation was mostly seen in men’s wrestling until this time.
Before the match, Rayne suggests that she is fine being solo. In addition, Rayne motions Lacey Von Erich and Velvet Sky to the back while Tara takes her moment. However, Rayne quickly gets back in the match, taking the early advantage.
Rayne’s confidence allows her to prove that she does not need anyone to defeat Tara. Furthermore, the crowd is going crazy. They are split on who they want to see win, cheering for both women.
In addition, Tara tries everything to keep Rayne down. After the kick-out, Tara goes for yet another moonsault. However, this time, Rayne moves out of the way and later gains the victory.
This match and victory for Rayne is a staple in her career, retaining her title while ending a decade-long career. She proves herself to be a legend in the making while displaying her dominance over the division.
#1 | Madison Rayne vs. Gail Kim | TNA Lockdown 2014
Two of the greatest Knockouts champions of all time collide in a steel cage. From start to finish, this match is brutal and gives the true meaning of total nonstop action.
At the start of the match, Kim goes for a quick escape. However, Rayne stops that in no time. As the match continues, you would think that the two were trying to kill one another!
Each of them uses the cage to their advantage, inflicting pain whenever the opportunity comes. From backbreakers to submissions, they pull out all the stops for the win.
In a sense, escaping the ring becomes a nonfactor to winning. They equally want to end each other in this ring and there is no plan of stopping until one is finished. After a spear from the top rope, Rayne defeats Gail Kim after the 1-2-3.
Here at Women’s Wrestling Talk, we want to thank Madison Rayne for all of her contributions to TNA/IMPACT! and women’s wrestling as a whole. We wish her the best of luck in her journey at AEW as we await to see the greatness she brings to the company.
