When Britt Baker returns to AEW in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, she expects a hero’s welcome. Baker went to dentistry school at the University of Pittsburgh, which is also the setting for tonight’s episode of Dynamite. In an Owen Hart Cup qualifying match, Baker will face Danielle Kamela.
Dr. Baker was interviewed by Fightful Select before of the big event. Britt revealed an intriguing detail about an AEW opponent she’d want to fight. It’s not even an AEW wrestler. Baker said that she pushed to meet Deonna Purrazzo, the current Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion, in a match. Impact Wrestling currently has Purrazzo under contract. Attempting to get the match set has been found to be fraught with difficulties.
“Baker told Fightful that she pushed to AEW to wrestle Deonna Purrazzo, and hasn’t since they were both very new to wrestling. She knows that many of her fans want to see it, and she thinks that it can happen, but noted even with the Forbidden Door, there are hurdles.”
Britt Baker was the AEW Women’s World Champion for the longest time. Baker led the company’s women’s division through a rough time before giving the title to Thunder Rosa, who took it from her. After this, Britt will try to get back on track and get into the Owen Hart Cup. A potential match with Deonna Purrazzo is possible. Fans should not anticipate it right away since Impact still has a lot of work to do. Britt just wishes for the chance to compete against the greatest.
