#IMPACTRecap: Year End Awards Part Two: OG Badass Comes Back To The Impact Zone For The Virtuosa
After her shocking appearance on AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Martinez made her return to the Impact Zone last night. To no surprise, she wasted no time calling out Deonna Purrazzo.
She said, “Last week, I heard my name come out of Deonna’s mouth. Deonna you think I’m some cheap hoodrat coming off from the streets trying to make a name at Impact? No chica! I’m the OG Badass! And when you speak my name you betta put some respect on it!” Martinez went on to challenge Purrazzo to a match next week, days before her Texas Death Match at Hard to Kill.
The Virtuosa had quite the response to the OG Badass on Twitter.
This morning, Martinez got exactly what she wanted. It was announced that the match between The Virtuosa and The OG Badass will take place next week. It is safe to say Knockouts Champion, Mickie James will have a close eye on this match.
As they gear up for their championship match next week, The Influence were interrupted by The IInspiration during their photoshoot. The two teams will face off at Hard to Kill for the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship as the dreams of a supergroup fadeaway. The IInspiration have held on to those championships since their win at Bound for Glory but will their reign end swiftly at the hands of The Influence?
All in all, it was Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering who took home the award for Knockouts Tag Team of the Year. Nominees in the category included: Decay, The IInspiration, Fire N Flava, and The Influence. As they make herstory once again at Hard to Kill, it will be interesting to see how their tag team connection plays a part in the first-ever Knockouts Ultimate X Match.
Part two ended with a cryptic message from the Undead Bridemaids, asking for their mother. Brandi Lauren fears the silence, while Kimber Lee feels they have failed her. With no souls to give, Su Yung eliminates the Undead Bridemaids while revealing her pregnant stomach to the Impact Zone. Here at Women’s Wrestling Talk, we want to send our congratulations to Su Yung on her pregnancy!
